Sewing Passion

Well hello, it has been a few years since I wrote anything on my blog. After a big move to Wales, time ran away with me. My disability has been re diagnosed to Focal Dystonia which has taken over the left side of my body. I am no longer able to walk. So.... I’ve had to rethink my abilities and Sewing has taken over my life. I love all things Patchwork and Quilting, and an obsession for creating Tomte Nisse! Also I have started a Bag Making Group.

I will be sharing my creations and an odd pattern or two, just watch this space.

We (Pete and I) are currently Crowd Funding for a wet room and medical emergency alarm system. Pete has had a stroke and is suffering Parasomnia. This has made our lives a nightmare. I now have to stay awake while he sleeps to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself or me. My lack of mobility means I need access to the medical alert system for help to come and get into our home. Below is the link for this, every little helps and every penny will be great fully received. We have helped raise thousands for charity while on the committee of the Caravan Club, but now the charity must start at home.

Well, that’s it for today, but a Tomte pattern will be posted in a few days time!

Sugar Bowl challenge 104

Time for me to catch up on all that's been happening.

A mad baking session to do an afternoon tea for two friends, one of whom is a fellow crafter. Ginger - cherry choc bites, Malibu cupcake, Cointreau cupcakes, iced lime tray bake, Viennese fingers clotted cream scones. All preceded by finger sandwiches. A really scrumptious spread.

Then a sewing spree, making high hair cushions and banners!

Now for my card for The Sugar Bowl competition number 104.
Using two Leanne Ellis stamps from Funky Kits
All is not lost and To remember. I cut a square gatefold down to create a house shape. Cut flowers using
a sizzix die and papers from MME. Added some foliage from a couple of Marieanne dies. Coloured the images
with polychromo pencils.

Added a greeting from SU stamps and a heart from an xcut die.

Hope you like my card.

Hi Honey I'm Home!

Monday 6th May 2013
I've been missing a while, family problems have taken all my attention for the last few weeks.
It's been a struggle to keep positive but I think we're coming out the other side!
At least it's been a lovely few days of sunshine, which makes me feel like smiling again. Add to that, a weight loss of 3 1/2 stone!

So, to catch up on my most recent projects I'm posting some pictures. I will be adding some instructions and competition entries this week. So check back for some nifty ideas!

Sugar bowl Challenge 101

Hello, it's been a few weeks since my last post, but li'll Jay has been in hospital and nana has been poorly and a close friend has started treatment for a second breast cancer..... But onwards and upwards, these things are sent to try us!

So I am posting the first card that I've done in weeks! For the Sugar Bowl competition. I also added this to the Official Sugar Nellie Facebook page Sugary Sunday comp.
The only specifications were Spots and stripes, so I embossed these onto the base card and matt. I used "First Dance" from Funky Kits Swiss dots embossing folder and a hoagie board for the stripes. The flower is made from a set of stamps from My Minds Eye called Cutie Pie.
The butterfly was from a freebie die on paper crafting magazine. Coloured the image in using pro markers and added gems, pearls and glitter. A ribbon and stick pin from stash and small metal heart with gem was an earring!

I hope you like it!
